Hello everyone! Another Sunday means another blog post. Today I will talk about a product that has been in my stash for quite a while now, but I’m glad I waited so long to review it as my opinion has definitely changed compared to the first time I used it. It is another product from The Body Shop, namely the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel. It contains 3 plant stem cells, that are listed on the bottle. You apply the product after cleansing your face, rub it in and all dead skin, impurities and pollutants should be peeled off. Does it work?
Price + Packaging
I believe I paid 21€ for a bottle that contains 145ml. It might seem a lot, but I’ve had it in my stash for so long and barely any product has been used up, so it will take a while to completely use up.
As far as the packaging goes, it comes in a bottle with a pump, which I really like as it is hygienic, and I think for this type of product, since it has a sticky gel consistency, it works best. The only disadvantage is that when you haven’t used the product in a while, the pump clogs and you have to put a lot of pressure to get the dried up product out.
I have to admit that I was not immediately sold when I bought it. I felt like it was just the product clumping up and not my skin. However, the more I used it, the more I noticed it was actually dead skin, impurities and pollutants being removed as depending on the cleanser I used, the color of the ‘residu’ on my face changed to match the color of the cleanser I’ve used. I also noticed that when I have some break outs, using this product helps my skin clear up faster.
It has a cooling, sticky gel-like texture that helps get rid of the impurities and dead skin. But the only thing I do not like is that sometimes the clumps keep sticking to my skin really bad when I try to wash it off and it’s hard to rinse it off, or my face just feels sticky after using it, no matter how many times I’ve tried to wash off the product.
Even though I did not like the liquid peel in the beginning, it has grown on me and now it is one of my favorite skincare items to use. It really helps keep break outs at bay, and it just works wonders when my skin is dull and just not smooth at all. I do get annoyed sometimes at how hard it is to get the last few clumps of product of my face as they really stick to my skin, or how sticky my face sometimes still is, even after washing, but if I see what wonders it works for my skin, I tend to look past this disadvantage.
Have you tried any liquid peels before? If so, what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments.
